CULTIDELTA

DeltaLand

At Cultidelta, as a team of curious minds, we had always wanted to organize an event related to Mediterranean landscaping, but our busy day-to-day schedules had never allowed us to take the plunge. However, in March 2022, thanks to landscape architect Susana Brosed, we met the renowned English landscape architect and writer Noel Kingsbury, who encouraged us to develop the idea we had been mulling over for some time. Thus, the first edition of Garden Masterclass Spain was born, held in late October of that same year.

Following the success of that first edition—which featured Noel Kingsbury and Fernando Martos as speakers and was limited to about 40 attendees per day due to the size of the venue—we decided in 2023 to take it a step further and organize a larger-scale event at the Amposta Municipal Auditorium. Over two days of lectures and PechaKucha sessions, we brought together nearly 200 attendees and featured such prestigious speakers as Thomas Doxiadis and Amalia Robredo. The goal was now clear: to establish an annual event, a fixture on the calendar, and, above all, to become a benchmark in the field of Mediterranean and naturalistic landscape architecture.

In 2024, we once again filled the venue to capacity with a carefully curated selection of international and local presentations. It was a particularly exciting edition thanks to the outstanding participation of Tom Stuart-Smith and Story Wiggins from Terremoto Landscape, whose inspiring and committed vision marked a turning point in DeltaLand’s history.

In 2025, DeltaLand continued to grow, establishing itself as a meeting place for landscape architecture and gardening professionals interested in the naturalistic approach, plant knowledge, and the design of green spaces adapted to the Mediterranean climate.

DeltaLand, a name that brings together landscape, land, light, and nature, embodies this approach to naturalistic Mediterranean landscaping: the fusion of nature and human action to create spaces that connect with the local area and its identity.

The latest edition of DeltaLand 2026 will be held in Amposta on October 16 and 17 at our city’s Municipal Auditorium.

Following the enthusiastic response from attendees at previous editions, we are continuing our commitment to naturalistic landscaping and raising awareness of it. We are thrilled that the speakers we have invited have confirmed their participation without hesitation, allowing us to once again assemble a high-caliber panel to discuss design and projects, species knowledge, techniques, and garden maintenance, in both the public and private sectors.
